About the Beds Road Cycling Club Evening League Series
The Evening League is a series of 14 time trails in which riders compete against the clock on two courses, of 10 and 11.3 miles.
The routes are:-

We have 15 events on our calendar, the 15th is a 'reserve' event in case any of the others are cancelled for any reason.
All Evening League events are held on Thursday Evenings, with up to 75 riders leaving at 1 minute intervals between 18:46 and 20:00
NB The final league positions were to be calculated based on the best five 10 mile and best five 11.3 mile events for each rider, so you need to complete at least 10 events to qualify.
However, due to roadworks which delayed the use of the 11.3 course, and further roadworks planned on the course throughout July, we will accept your best 10 ridden events, made up as a combination of any of the two courses, or just the 10 if you have been unable to ride the 11.3 so far. 1st position scores 1 point, 2nd gets 2 points etc, so lowest points aggregate wins.
See results for events so far at bedsroad.org
Age groups are based on your age on 31 Aug 2011. Riders are grouped for the 30 available awards as follows:-

New to time trialling?
If you want to give time trialling a try, and aren't yet a member of a club, that's fine! All our events are registered with the UK Time Trials governing body (CTT) to welcome 'Come and Try It' riders too, with no obligation to join.
Please note: CTT rules allow you to enter 2 time trials under the Come and Try It scheme, after which you must become a member of a CTT affiliated club, such as Beds Road Cycling Club.
You don't need a special bike to enter, but you will find a road bike will be much faster than a mountain bike.
This handy guide is a good read for new time-triallists.
After the event, why not have a cuppa (on the house) and have a natter and a laugh, share experiences, swap ideas, news of forthcoming events, tell us what events you'd like us to run, whatever takes your fancy!
EVERYONE is welcome to join in!
Online Entry Details
Riders who wish to compete in the Evening League should complete the online entry form , which is open from Sunday at 18:00 up to Wednesday at 18:00.
Written Entry Details Written entry forms are available at the clubhouse and should be posted in the club letterbox no later than the morning of the Wednesday before an event. You can download a written entry form here. Or you can pick up entry forms and Parental Consent forms from the folders you'll find outside the clubhouse. Help yourself, let me know if the folder needs replenishing, or if you have any other questions, ask for Graham on 07858 402683.
You must enter events within the times specified.
The entry desk for new entries in person at the Clubhouse will close at 18:15 - thirty minutes before the first rider is pushed off, to allow us to finalise the start sheets. If you are too late, you won't enter. There may be queues, so we strongly recommend you book online to avoid disappointment.
If you have already booked online, then you can sign on at the clubhouse just before your booked time, so there is no need to rush to get there by 18:15 if you booked online.
We reserve the right to move your booked time to within +/- 2 minutes of your original booking, to allow better rider separation, according to CTT rules. Please see here for general details on this subject.
Event entry fee is £3.00 for BRCC members or £4.00 for non-members. The entry fee should be paid at sign-on desk, for each event. Riders aged under 18 must submit a parental consent form, signed by their parent. This form can be downloaded from the CTT website.
Conduct at the Events & Regulations
Parking: if you cannot travel to the Clubhouse by bike, please do not park across our neighbours' driveways, and do not park outside the Clubhouse or near the start and finish lines; and also note that we do not have permission to use the Village Hall car park.
We must keep the road outside of the Clubhouse clear - there will be an HQ marshal, please do not put the marshal in the position of having to ask you to stay out of the road.
No u-turns in the road within sight of the start and finish lines, whilst the event is in progress.
NB For your safety, we strongly suggest that you wear a properly secured hard shell helmet which meets accepted UK safety standards for head protection whilst cycling.
Junior riders will not be allowed to ride without such a helmet.
We also strongly suggest that you use a functional rear red light with at least 3 active LEDs.
CTT Regulation 16 - Competitor's Clothing: competitors must be clothed from the neck to at least mid-thigh. Place your number LOW DOWN so that it can be clearly seen from behind when you are in a low aero position.
CTT Regulation 21 - Paced & Company Riding: Competitors must ride entirely alone and unassisted and not ride in company or take shelter (commonly known as drafting) from other riders or vehicles. A competitor overtaking another must pass without receiving or giving shelter. The onus of avoiding company riding shall be upon the rider overtaken. Cheats will be disqualified.
At the end. On crossing the finish line please call out your number clearly to help the timekeepers identify you. If you don't make your identity clear, you may not be timed.
Please do not disturb the timekeepers, do not mingle around them, nor block their view - they will be busy recording other riders' times. We will try to have the results available on the results page soon after each event. Ranked results are generally available in the Clubhouse shortly after the last rider comes in.
Privacy Statement: We will only use your details for the purpose of running this event, as required by CTT. This form will also log your computer's IP address to help to validate data.
